THE VIEW:

Alhambra Reserva 1925 has an intense amber color, a bright appearance and a creamy and consistent foam.

THE SENSE OF SMELL:

Intense and complex aroma. At first it manifests a dry fragrance, which is followed by notes of floral and fresh hops, typical of Saaz hops. We also find notes of banana and red apple together with delicate aromas of toast and caramel from the malts.

TASTE:

Cereal and hop flavors remain balanced with a counterpoint of medium bitterness on the palate.

His father, the chemist who created it, is called Miguel Hernáiz Bérmudez de Castro and has a commandment (the eleventh for him) that he strictly complies with: «I never go where they don't call me». He defines himself as a man in love with personal ostracism and does not want any kind of recognition. "Everyone in Granada knows me and that's enough for me," says Hernáiz. He resists the interview and refuses to be photographed, but that doesn't mean he's aloof. "Forgive me, but it's just the way I am. I never liked being in the foreground. If you are going to talk about that beer, mention everyone who was with me. The credit belongs to everyone. And it's not false modesty, really."
«The 1925 was born out of necessity. The company needed something new and fortunately we found the formula”, says José Antonio Martín Lagos, a chemist at the factory. «The truth is that when we launched it we thought it would have little success because it was a beer with a high alcohol content that customers were not used to. That's why we made a very short print run. Our surprise was that after two weeks or so it was over. We were overwhelmed by the success it had had. We had to put an ad in the IDEAL apologizing for running out of stock. I remember that many people believed that this was part of a commercial strategy for its introduction into the market and that people had monkeys of that brand, but nothing could be further from the truth. It's just that we ran out in two weeks!” recalls Antonio Perera, who is convinced that this product has true followers.
